Many products can be used to clean a textured ceiling.
Textured ceilings are attractive, but can be a chore to clean. With the right tips, tricks and hints on cleaning the ceiling is easy. Some cleaning necessities can be found in your home and some can be purchased at your local hardware or retail store.
Feather Duster
Attach a feather duster to an old broom handle and use it to dust the ceiling. This will get all the dust, spider webs and dirt off the ceiling. If you do not have a feather duster, you can take a soft cloth and wrap it around the end of your broom. Sweep your ceiling with the feather duster or soft cloth to get it clean.
Lint Roller
Use a paint roller with an extender to clean your textured ceiling. Take the paint roller off and put on a lint roller. If you do not have a lint roller that will fit, you can use masking tape. Take masking tape or duct tape and put it sticky side out around the paint roller. Use a long handle to reach the ceilings and roll them clean. All the loose fuzz, dirt and spider webs will stick to the lint roller or tape.
Vacuum
Some vacuums have an extender handle and extension brushes. You may need to sit the vacuum up on a chair so it will reach higher. Use your vacuum extension to vacuum up the dirt and spider webs. Vacuums with an extension that has a suction brush work really well. The brush knocks the dirt loose while sucking it up at the same time.
Broom
Use a clean, net broom to sweep the ceiling. Use sweeping motions just like you would on the floor. Of course, this is a little messier because you will be knocking all the dirt in the floor.
Sponge
To clean the dirt buildup around fixtures and vents you can use a damp sponge. Dip a sponge in a cleaning solution with water and wring it out. Attach the sponge to a handle extender and clean around fixtures/vents. For the cleaning solution you can use one part cleaning solution to one part water.
