Kinds Of Vases To Place Peacock Down In

Look online for stores that sell peacock feathers.

Peacock feathers make a distinctive bouquet option as opposed to standard flower bouquets, and they last much longer. There is no wrong way to display feathers in a vase, as long as the vase is large enough to hold the number of feathers used. Choose from vases of different styles, shapes and sizes, including painted porcelain Chinese vases and short, fat glass Spanish vases.

Chinese Vases

Porcelain Chinese vases are often very intricate and colorful, with numerous designs and patterns. Many come with handles as well. The colorful nature of peacock feathers contrasts nicely with such vases. Display them in your front foyer, living room or other sitting area. These vases are generally on the larger side, usually around 18 inches tall and about 8 inches in diameter, which will create a tall display if combined with uncut peacock feathers.

Glass Vases

Use oversized clear glass vases to display peacock feathers as wedding centerpieces. Fill the vase with matching green and blue ball ornaments and stick the stems of cut peacock feathers in between the balls to create a feather bouquet. You may also put the feathers in first and then fill the vase with balls, depending on the size of your vase.

Spanish Vases

Use a rumpled Spanish vase, which is generally clear, short and fat with a wide middle and tapered top and base. Fill the vase less than halfway with blue, green and clear marbles for your peacock feather bouquet. Stick uncut feathers in between the marbles and additional embellishments, such as twisted willow tree branches and colored sprigs of dry grass, for a dramatic display. Place your bouquet in a corner of your living room or front hall.

Other Vase Ideas

Use tall, skinny vases for ground displays of peacock feathers. A large vase that sits in a metal stand is another option. There are endless varieties of porcelain vases to choose from for displaying peacock feathers as well. You can also use a type of heavy, colorful, handblown art glass vase, referred to as a "peacock feather" vase due to the finely designed pattern on the glass. Use cut peacock feathers for these vases, which are usually about 9 to 11 inches tall. Try martini vases for wedding centerpieces.
