A pair of pants and a headdress make for a simple men's indian costume.
Indian ensembles are a quick fix for Halloween and costume parties. A men's Indian costume is the simplest to make, requiring only an inexpensive pair of pants and a few craft supplies. Oversized baggy pants, medical scrubs for example, are extremely comfortable for costume wear and can be quickly cut and sewn into fringed pants. Go bare-chested and top the look with a feather headdress for a distinct Indian costume.
Instructions
Pants
1. Pin the oversized pants slim to the leg. Slip the pants onto the costume wearer, and pin along the length of each leg according to their body size. The pants should be pinned with enough room to easily slip on and off.
2. Sew along the pinned edges with the sewing machine. Remove pins.
3. Remove the original side seams from the pants, cutting them off with the scissors.
4. Cut horizontally into the side of the pant, flush to the new seam. Continue cutting down the length of the pant, creating 1/2-inch-wide fringe. Repeat for the other leg.
Headdress
5. Apply hot glue to 6 inches of the inner side of the cloth stretch headband.
6. Adhere the feather bottoms to the glued inner cloth stretch headband, so that each feather appears to be sprouting up and away from the top of the head.
7. Repeat gluing and adhering process for multiple feather layers for a full headdress.
8. Let dry completely.
