Make a turkey out of a painted handprint.
Crafting is an easy and exciting way to teach kids about the holidays. The handprint turkey is a classic holiday craft that is simple to make. It is also inexpensive as you need only a few common items to create this work of art. Children of all ages will enjoy creating a turkey from their own handprint and will be eager to decorate the house with their creations. Have fun painting your own handprint turkey.
Instructions
1. Place a piece of paper on a flat table. This will make it easier to press your hand down firmly on the paper after it is painted, creating a better handprint.
2. Paint your fingers and hand with acrylic paint. Paint the palm of your hand and thumb with brown paint. Paint the other fingers with different colors, such as green, yellow and red.
3. Press the painted hand down firmly on the paper. Run your other hand over the painted hand and fingers to make sure it touches the paper at all points. Remove your hand from the paper carefully.
4. Let the paint dry. Glue the wiggle eye to the paper once the paint has dried. It should be placed on the thumb print as that serves as the turkey's head.
5. Paint a beak on the turkey using orange or yellow paint. Draw other body parts on the turkey, such as legs, with a brown marker.
