Vegas Party Accessories
Las Vegas is known for bright lights, gambling, entertainment and a nonstop party atmosphere. But you don't have to buy a plane ticket to experience some of this -- you can have your own Las Vegas party anywhere. All you need are some simple decorations to give a space a Las Vegas feel.
Decorations
Since Vegas is home to so many casinos, a Las Vegas Party should have lots of gambling-themed decorations. Make sure to have packs of playing cards. Cards can be tacked to strings and draped from the ceiling like streamers, or even cut and folded into shapes to create sculptural elements. Cover tables in green felt from a fabric store to make them look like gambling tables. For a table centerpiece, you can create a small house of cards, using glue and tape to secure it. Playing cards can be taped together and laminated to create decorative place mats.
Dice and lots of poker chips are also a must for any Las Vegas Party. You can glue them around the edges of platters, plates and bowls, and stack them up creatively around your house-of-cards centerpiece. You can even create giant oversize dice by spray-painting cardboard boxes.
Lights and Sparkle
If you've been to Las Vegas, you know the city sparkles with twinkling, blinking lights, so any Las Vegas party should have lots of string lights. Get string lights in a variety of colors to recreate the bright and festive atmosphere of Las Vegas. Put string lights around the edges of doorways or archways and drape them on the walls. A strategically placed disco ball or two will also add more sparkle. Hang a disco ball over a table or in the center of the room. Placing plenty of mirrors in the room will enhance the sparkling effect by reflecting the lights. To bring a Vegas showgirl element to the party, sprinkle glitter on tables and hang colorful feather boas over chairs.
Food and Drink
Las Vegas is famous for buffets, so Vegas party food should be served buffet style. Prepare a variety of appetizers, such as chicken wings, egg rolls, mini-pizzas and sushi. Champagne and fancy cocktails should be served in champagne glasses and martini glasses. Drinks should be colorful, with swizzle sticks and paper umbrellas. To add color to your cocktails, try drink recipes that use pink grapefruit juice, cranberry juice or blue curacao. For non-alcoholic options, provide sparking apple cider or club soda.
