Unique Options To Wedding Bouquets

Peacock feathers make bold and beautiful bridal bouquets.

If flowers make you sneeze or you simply want to carry something different than the traditional wedding bouquet, don't fret. There's no wedding rule that requires the bride to tote a handful of natural blooms. Use your imagination and design a creative bouquet that reflects your personality, as well as the theme of your wedding.

Fans

If you're planning summertime nuptials in an outdoor location, consider carrying a fan. Look for an elegant fold-out fan with accents that complement the color and details of your dress or opt for a fun and funky, colorful fan that will let your personality shine. Either way, you're guaranteed to have a breeze to carry with you down the aisle.

Buttons

Buttons come in endless shapes, sizes and colors -- and are an interesting and versatile bridal accessory. Create button blooms by stacking and layering differently sized buttons to look like flowers. Add colored felt pieces to look like leaves or petals. Glue the buttons together and adhere each flower to a wire stem or dowel. Wrap satin fabric around the stems and gather the blooms into a bridal bouquet to remember.

Seashells

A seaside bride will look right at home with a bouquet of shells. Fashion a bouquet of gathered or purchased shells, accented with ribbon or raffia. Just be sure to clean the shells before using them in your bouquet -- you don't want any unexpected guests at the ceremony.

Christmas Ornaments

Infuse holiday spirit into your wintertime wedding with a bouquet of Christmas ornaments. Find colored balls that match the colors of your wedding and create a bouquet accented with ribbon or tulle.

Feathers

Show your soft side by carrying a bouquet of feathers. Use bright peacock feathers for an exotic edge or use light white or ivory feathers, accented with glittering crystals, for a clutch made for a queen.
