How You Can Remove Facial lines From Leather Jackets

A leather jackets is a great staple in any wardrobe. In addition to being trendy and bold, leather jackets are also quite warm, making them functional for winter weather. As leather is a valuable and delicate material, it's important to care for it properly. If you have wrinkles in your leather jacket, take care to remove them properly. If you don't, you can permanently damage the jacket.

Instructions

1. Hang your leather jacket. Leather can wrinkle and crease if folded for a long period of time. Generally, you can solve this problem by hanging the jacket on a standard coat hanger. Since leather is a thick material, it may take several days for the wrinkles to be released.

2. Put your leather jacket in the bathroom and run a hot shower. The steam from the shower will help to ease the wrinkles in the jacket. Make sure no water splashes or sprays touch the jacket as it can damage the leather.

3. Use a hand-held steamer on the jacket. This allows you to spot-treat individual areas that are more wrinkled than others. Keep the steamer a few inches away from the jacket to avoid condensation on the leather.

4. Iron your leather jacket. Place the iron on a warm setting, and put a heavy brown paper bag between the iron and the jacket. This will protect the leather from burns while still allowing sufficient heat through to remove the wrinkles.

5. Store your leather jacket in a cloth garment bag. Since leather needs to breathe, storing it in a plastic bag can lead to wrinkles.

6. Take your leather jacket to a professional cleaner. Since leather is so expensive, it's worthwhile to have it professionally cleaned. The cleaner will most likely steam clean the jacket to remove the wrinkles.
