Steps To Make An Attractive Winter Wedding Arrangment

Roses are a popular winter wedding flower.

During the spring and summer, hundreds of flowers are in bloom, so putting together flower arrangements is a fairly simple task. During the winter, creating a beautiful wedding arrangement is a bit more challenging. However, with a bit of creativity, you can create stunning bouquets for the bride and bridesmaids, exquisite boutonnieres for the groomsmen and stylish centerpieces for the reception tables. These arrangements will add to the decor and create a warm, romantic mood.

Instructions

1. Determine the color scheme of the wedding. This will help you decide which flower types and colors will work best.

2. Choose one or multiple types of winter flowers that complement your color scheme, or stick with all white flowers for a "winter white" setting. Fresh flowers available during the winter include roses, carnations, aubergine dahlias, amaryllis blossoms, juniper boughs, arborvitae, white freesias, white tracheliums and eucalyptus stems.

3. Select simple accessories to add to the arrangement. Popular winter wedding accessories include white pearl pins, pine cones, holly, ferns and hypericum berries.

4. Put together a sample arrangement several weeks prior to the wedding to ensure you are able to achieve the look and feel you desire.

5. Start by grouping the flowers together.

6. Add any ivy, ferns and accessories to the flowers by wrapping the stems of the flowers and the stems on the accessories together with florist wire.

7. Secure the stems with string or additional florist wire. Wrap and tie a ribbon around the stems to hide any wire or string and complete the look.

8. Re-create your flower arrangements with fresh flowers on the day of the wedding. Mist the flowers with water every so often throughout the day to keep them fresh.
