Peacock lamps resemble the bird with feathers extended.
Tiffany style peacock lamps have long shades in many bright colors to simulate the extended feathers of a peacock. Chandelier-style peacock lamps hang over a table or in a corner from the ceiling to provide extra light for dining or reading in a dim corner. A ceiling hook holds the lamp firmly into the ceiling with a lightweight swag hook to guide the chain and electrical cord to the wall.
Instructions
1. Use a stud finder to locate a ceiling stud near the area to hang the peacock lamp. Mark the stud with a carpenter's pencil.
2. Remove the screws from the ceiling hook. Hold the ceiling hook up to the stud with one hand and mark a dot in each screw hole on the ceiling with a carpenter's pencil in the other hand.
3. Remove the ceiling hook and drill a pilot hole in the stud for each screw.
4. Place a screw bit in the drill.
5. Place the ceiling hook on the area while aligning the holes in the hook and ceiling.
6. Hold the hook in place with one hand and screw each screw through the hook and into the ceiling holes.
7. Hang the lamp on the hook by the lamps top ring.
8. Plug the lamp cord into a nearby receptacle.
9. Place a lamp swag hook on the ceiling near the receptacle. Place the screws in the swag hook and screw them in with a screwdriver in a clockwise direction.
10. Pull the excess cord from the receptacle up to the swag hook and hang it. Position the excess from the lamp to the swag hook so a loop hangs down between them.
