How You Can Sell Hair Bows At Craft Shows

Selling hair bows at craft shows can be a creative way to earn extra money. To create a successful business, you need to have attractive bows, reasonable prices, inviting displays and skills as a salesperson. Before you jump into selling hair bows, browse assorted craft shows in your community and think about what kinds of hair bows are not already being sold. If you can offer a style that no one else is offering, you have a better chance at high sales.

Instructions

1. Call the head of the craft show you want to be a vendor at to check on vendor charges. If the price is acceptable, make a booth reservation and pay the fee.

2. Plan your craft show booth style and setup. Pick an attractive tablecloth to cover your display table. You want something clean and classy looking, but nothing so dramatic that it draws your eye away from the hair bows. A deep blue velvet tablecloth or subtle black and grey checked tablecloth would be appropriate choices.

3. Choose some plain, black easels to display your hair bows. Add some plain, black cardboard rectangles to place on the easels. Keep the display colors solid and dark to keep the emphasis on the bows.

4. Punch holes in the cardboard with a sharp tool if you're hanging barrette or headband hair bows. If you're selling hair bows that use ties and clips, try gluing a small tab of black ribbon to the cardboard from which you can hang the hair bows.

5. Arrange your hair bows on the cardboard rectangles, leaving some space around each bow, and place the displays on the easels. Try to offer a variety of hair bows grouped by style and price-range.

6. Use a blank note card and some decorative craft pen colors to create a sign that clearly states the price for each type of hair bow. Make sure the sign is clean and professional but still creative and friendly. Make a card for each different type of hair bow offered.

7. Make a large decorative sign out of white poster board that states the name of your business and the fact that you're selling hair bows. Again, keep the sign clear but creative.

8. Arrive at the craft show early to set up. Clean your area and set up your table. Cover the table with the tablecloth, set up your display pieces, hang your signs with tape and get ready for customers. Make sure your display does not look cluttered or sloppy. Keep everything evenly spaced and clearly visible.
