How To Produce A Poultry Napkin Holder

If you're looking for a simple yet fun Thanksgiving craft to do with your children, then look no more. Not only will your kids love making these turkey napkin holders, but they will be eager to help set the Thanksgiving table with these colorful little gobblers.

Instructions

1. Prepare your craft spoons. You will need five spoons per napkin holder. Paint one yellow--this will become the turkey's head. Paint the others a variety of colors since they will comprise the turkey's tail feathers.

2. Paint the empty cardboard paper towel tube brown. Make the turkey's body by cutting a 2-inch section from this painted tube.

3. Fashion a pair of turkey legs by bending two short sections of the orange pipe cleaners at 90-degree angles. Attach three additional small pipe cleaner sections to the end of each leg to form a three-toed turkey foot. Make the outer toes shorter than the longer, middle toe.

4. Attach each leg to the turkey's body by punching the non-toe end of the pipe cleaner leg through the 2-inch section of cardboard tube. Bend the pipe cleaner ends inside the tube to secure them.

5. Make a turkey face on the yellow craft spoon. Start by using a black marker to draw eyes on the wide, flat end of the spoon. Finish the face by cutting a small, oval-shaped piece from the red felt. Glue this felt piece onto the middle of the spoon just beneath the eyes--it will form the turkey's wattle.

6. Add the head and tail feather spoons to the turkey's body. Glue the yellow, head spoon to the body with the round end facing up. Glue the remaining four painted craft spoons to the back of the body in a fan shape to form the turkey's tail feathers.
