When you are baking a cake for a child who loves "Sesame Street," consider baking a cake that is shaped like her favorite character from the television show. If she enjoys Big Bird the best, choose a cake shaped like that iconic character. Big bird is a fairly simple cake to create because the shape is pretty simple. Purchase a cake pan shaped like Big Bird and frost it so that it is easily recognizable as the "Sesame Street" character. Add this to my Recipe Box.
Instructions
Big Bird Cake Pan
1. Preheat your oven to the temperature indicated on your recipe or box of cake batter. Mix the cake batter according to the recipe.
2. Spray the Big Bird pan with cooking spray and pour the cake batter in the pan. Bake the cake for the length of time indicated on the recipe, or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean.
3. Turn the cake out onto a cake platter and allow it to cool completely.
4. Place your yellow, orange and red frosting into separate bowls.
5. Fit a round tip into a pastry bag and fill it with yellow frosting.
6. Frost the yellow sections of the cake with the yellow frosting, using the piping bag so that you can keep the yellow frosting out of the other areas of the cake.
7. Continue with the other frosting colors, using the red and yellow for Big Bird's mouth, socks and shoes.
8. Create details on the cake, such as Big Bird's facial features, with the black frosting.
