How You Can Display Ear-rings In Your Home

Earrings are works of art in themselves, and should be appreciated as such.

Display your earrings to make a functional piece of art. Organize your earrings according to the color of the d cor in the space you are going to decorate. Or add a funky splash of color by displaying earrings of bold colors or textures, such as feathers or beads. For a holiday display, mount your seasonal earrings, such as those worn at Christmas or Halloween, for an unexpected festive piece in your home.

Instructions

Photo Frame Display

1. Remove the glass from a picture frame. Turn it over so you are looking at the backside. Position the frame so that the longest side is turned vertically.

2. Cut nine lengths of 22-gauge plastic-coated craft wire into 10-inch pieces. Divide the wire pieces into three groups.

3. Gather one group of wires so they are lined up evenly end to end. Find the center point of the length of the frame. Staple one end of the wires to the left side of the frame. Braid the three strands of wire into a loose braid and pull the braid taut across the frame. Staple the other end to the right side of the frame.

4. Locate the midpoint between the center wire and the top end of the frame. Staple the second group of wires on the left side of the frame and braid these in the same manner you did with the first group. Staple the end of the braid to the right side. Repeat this process with the remaining group of wires positioned in the center of the middle wires and bottom of the frame.

5. Mount a tacking nail using a hammer into the desired location of your display. Hang the picture frame so the wires are horizontal. Hook dangling earrings over the wires. Push the posts of post-back earrings through the braid and place the back on the post to hold these in position.

Tree Branch Display

6. Position a tree branch that is approximately 1-inch thick and 1 foot in length on a wall where you want to display your earrings.

7. Hammer tacking nails in the wall to hang the branch in position. Hammer through the branch, if desired, with the nails for added stability.

8. Hang earrings with hooks on the branches; this display does not work effectively with post-back earrings.
