Plain shoes can easily be turned into magical fairy shoes.
If your little girl is dressing up as a fairy for a costume party or to go trick-or-treating at Halloween, she will need a pretty pair of fairy shoes to complete her outfit. However, you don't need to purchase expensive ready-made decorative shoes. With a little time and imagination you can customize a plain pair of ballet slippers or flat pumps to create a magical pair of fairy shoes that she is sure to treasure.
Instructions
1. Alter the color of fabric shoes by painting them with fabric paint or glue scraps of pretty cotton or silk fabric to the shoes with fabric glue.
2. Add braid, ribbon or lace trim around the top edge of the shoes. This will neaten the edges if you have covered the shoes with fabric scraps.
3. Use hot glue or white craft glue to add sequins, beads, bows, feathers and fabric flowers. Add stick-on gems in bright colors.
4. Finish by painting on swirls of white craft glue with a fine brush and dusting them with glitter. Shake off any excess glitter on a sheet of newspaper.
