A teddy bear baby-shower is a good choice for a gender-neutral baby shower, but with some blue and pink accents it can also be a cute baby boy or girl shower. Teddy bear invitations, decor, cakes and party games are easy to find in stores or make by hand.
Invitations
Printed teddy bear baby-shower invitations are available online or in party stores, but for a truly personalized teddy bear baby shower, hostesses can make their own invitations. Use paper with a teddy bear border or send out teddy bear-shaped invitations. Cut teddy bears out of brown card stock, type the party information on white or cream-colored card stock and attach it to the bear to make his stomach. Markers, ribbons and buttons can be used to decorate the face and paws.
Decorations
Use real teddy bears to decorate the baby shower. Borrow the teddy bears from friends or request that each guest purchase a teddy bear to use as decoration during the shower. Send the guest of honor home with all of the bears after the party.
In addition to teddy bears, include pink, blue, or gender-neutral colored (green or yellow) streamers and balloons, teddy bear cutouts for wall decor and teddy bear fabric for tablecloths.
Cake
Bake a teddy-bear cake. Craft and cooking stores typically sell teddy bear-shaped cake pans, or hostesses can add colored icing and plastic teddy bears to a sheet cake. A circular cake and two small semi-circles of cake for the ears will make a very easy, cute teddy bear face cake without need for a template.
Games
Have guests race to see who can diaper a teddy bear the fastest, name as many famous bears as possible, or guess how many gummy bears are in a clear jar. Teddy bear-party favors such as plastic bear-shaped jars of honey, teddy-bear stationary and teddy-bear cookies can be given to game winners.
