Yellow dahlias may be used for a wedding reception centerpiece, dinner party decoration or elegant event. Yellow is a good shade to use for spring and summer events, but yellow flowers also look nice with the warmer tones of fall. There are several ways you may display yellow dahlias to add some sunshine to any table setting, whether it is informal or casual. Artificial dahlias may be substituted if necessary.
Instructions
1. Fill a black vase with yellow dahlias. The contrast between black and yellow creates a striking visual. If black doesn't go with your other decorations, try another vibrant vase color such as orange, bright green or hot pink. Use yellow vases for a monochromatic look.
2. Make a dahlia pomander ball. Soak a floral foam ball in water until it is soaking wet. Trim the dahlias until there is approximately one inch of stem left, and stick the dahlias in the foam until the foam is completely covered. Set the foam dahlia balls on top of colorful cake stands.
3. Fill a clear glass vase with water and lemon slices, or just lemons. Float a small bouquet of trimmed dahlias on top of the lemons and water. Surround the lemons and dahlias with bright-yellow candles to add extra color to the decoration.
