Spathemed Party Ideas

Serve a tray of chocolate-dipped strawberries for a spa party treat.

Host a spa-themed party for a group of any age for an event full of pampering or make it a chocolate spa-themed party for some pampering services along with some scrumptious homemade or store-bought chocolate treats. For a party on a budget, you can have activities include making some of the food or use the chocolates or treats as party favors.

Decorations

Decorate with pink, lavender or other pastel colors for a regular spa party. For a chocolate spa-themed party, choose chocolate brown and white or cream. Turn the party area into a tranquil environment with dimmed lights, aromatherapy candles and soft music playing in the background. Decide on a name for the home spa and hang a banner near the room's entrance with the name displayed. Arrange a comfortable seating area around a low table for the guests to enjoy a light lunch. Set up spa service tables and cover them with pink, brown and cream tablecloths and a variety of beauty service paraphernalia, such as nail lacquers and emery boards, brushes, hair wraps, clips and facial masks.

Activities

Let the guests at the party give each other manicures, pedicures and facials. For a young party group, enlist the help of an extra adult or two and provide the beauty services. Other party activities include making body glitter from aloe vera gel and multicolored polyester glitter or decorating flip-flops with ribbons, imitation gems and boa feathers. For an older party group, consider hiring a mobile spa service to administer massages, deep-cleansing facials, manicures and pedicures. For chocolate spa-themed activities, make chocolate bars together and wrap them in foil and hand-decorated chocolate bar wrappers.

Food

Serve trays of finger sandwiches or cheese and crackers and have a vegetable tray with dip. For a chocolate spa-themed party, use the chocolate theme but include some healthy snacks as well. Purchase or rent a chocolate fountain and cut up pieces of fruit to dip in the fountain. Have the party group help with some of the food preparation for extra party activities. Make a batch of fudgy brownies or chocolate-chip cookies. Serve hot chocolate and fruit smoothies.

Party Favors

For a chocolate spa-themed party favor, fill a makeup bag or shower caddy with goodies, such as chocolate-flavored lip-gloss, brown and pink nail lacquers, brown and pink hair clips and chocolate-scented body washes and lotions. Other options include personalized mugs filled with packages of hot chocolate or chocolate-covered almonds or a keepsake tray containing homemade petit fours or chocolate truffles. For an inexpensive party favor for younger people, fill a small drawstring satchel with lip-gloss, temporary tattoos, hair elastics and candy necklaces and bracelets.
