How You Can Masquerade Masks

You can make your own mask for a costume party using craft supplies.

If you have been invited to attend a masquerade or costume party, you will need to wear a masquerade mask so that your face is disguised. Instead of buying a generic mask from a costume shop, you can be more creative by making your own masquerade mask using materials from a craft supply store. Once finished, your mask will disguise your face in a beautiful and creative way.

Instructions

1. Cover a blank mask with a layer of craft glue. Use a tacky glue instead of basic white glue.

2. Sprinkle colorful glitter over the glue so that the mask is completely covered. Allow the mask to dry for 30 minutes. Shake off the excess glitter.

3. Squeeze a line of hot glue around the perimeter of the mask, and press fine braided cording onto the edge of the mask. Allow the glue to cool for 2 minutes. Trim off the excess cording with scissors.

4. Squeeze a dollop of hot glue onto the side of the mask, and press an ostrich plume onto the hot glue. Position the plume so that the feathered end sticks straight up, over the top edge of the mask. Hold the plume in place for 2 minutes until the glue cools and hardens.
