Create exciting party games for your little princess.
No princess party is complete without exciting games for the royal celebration. Use your imagination along with a few supplies to bring fairy tale magic alive with games the party guests can remember for years to come. Awarding small princess-themed prizes, such as tiaras, wands and glitter lip gloss, to all game winners can help the guests get excited for the next game.
Pin the Crown on the Princess
Print or draw a picture of a princess on a large poster board and draw a dotted line where her crown should go. Draw several princess crowns and write each party guest's name on a crown. Place double-sided tape on the back of each crown. Each player is blindfolded before being turned around four times. The child then tries to pin the crown on the princess. The player who pins the crown closest to the correct spot on the princess wins the game and a small prize. Another variation of this game is "pin the kiss on the frog."
Find the Glass Slippers
Hide several miniature high heels all around the party area. These toy high heels are available at many craft stores and toy stores, as they go with small dolls. Give each child a princess party favor bag. When you say, "Go," the party guests have to find as many glass slippers as they can. The player who finds the most glass slippers wins the game.
Princess Contest
Purchase material, such as tulle, silk and glitter fabric, at your local craft store. The guests are divided into teams of three or four players. The girls are told they have 30 minutes to create a princess gown from the material they have. Give the girls tape and clothespin to use on their dresses. After 30 minutes, they must select one person to model the princess dress. Prizes are awarded for the best, funniest, silliest and scariest princess dress.
Musical Wands
Cut several princess wands out of construction paper and scatter them on the floor, one less wand than there are players. Music is played and the guests are told to dance around like princesses. When the music stops, the players must stand on a wand. The player not standing on a wand is out of the game. Pull another wand from the floor and keep playing. The last player standing on a wand is the winner.
