Create fun games for girls aged 4 to 6.
When planning a party or social gathering for a group of girls aged 4 to 6, consider a few games that are sure to pique their interest. Games can build social skills and friendships amongst the girls. Keep the young girls interested in playing the games by awarding small girly prizes, such as hairbrushes, lip gloss and costume jewelry, to all game winners.
Treasure Hunt Games
Hide several girly items around the play area for the girls to find. Use items such as tiaras, princess wands, lip gloss, sunglasses, feather boas and plastic rings. Give each girl a bag to hunt the items. The girl who finds the most items wins a large prize. For a variation, hide party favors that go with the theme of the party or get-together. Mark a dot on a couple of the items and award the girls who find those items with a large prize, too.
Plant a Kiss
Hang a poster of a prince on the wall and put bright red lipstick on each girl. Blindfold the girls and tell them they have to try to kiss the prince on the lips. Spin each girl three times and tell her to kiss the poster. The girl who kisses the prince closest to his lips wins a prize. Other variations for a girls' "Pin the tail on the donkey" type game are place the tiara on the princess's head and pin the slipper on Cinderella's foot.
Princess Relay Race
Since most young girls love princesses, create a princess relay race. Divide the girls into two teams and have them line up at a starting line. Mark another line 20 feet away and place two princess outfits with accessories including a princess dress, high heels, a tiara and a princess wand. When you say, "Race," the first girl in each team line must race to the other line and put on the princess attire. She must run back and hand off the attire to the next girl in line who must put on the attire. Each player must put on the princess attire, and run to the other line and back. The first team to finish the relay race wins the game. Other outfit options include a ballerina outfit or a fairy outfit.
Tag Games
Select one girl to be "it" and give all the other girls a small tube of glitter. When you say, "Go," the girls must run from "it." If she tags a player, that player must freeze until another player comes by and sprinkles glitter on her. Keep player until "it" freezes every player or until the girls get bored. For another variation, give all the girls fairy wings to wear. When "it" tags someone, that player must freeze until a "fairy" crawls through her legs.
